“Nature’s Touch: Across Land and Sea”

This exhibition highlights the connection between land and sea, and how nature, in all its forms, touches and inspires the artists.

It connects the microscopic details of biochrome, the earth’s fragility in ceramics, the underwater beauty in photography, and the rich landscapes in painting, creating a cohesive narrative of nature’s impact.

ARTISTS:

• Renata Buziak: A biochrome artist blending photography and organic matter to reveal the hidden beauty in plant life.
• Mandy Chen: A ceramist exploring the fragile state of our planet and the rich cultural narratives of her ancestors.
• Anita Ong: An underwater cinematographer and wildlife photographer capturing the beauty and vulnerability of nature.
• Thai Ong: A landscape painter using palette knives to depict the vibrant flora, fauna, and scenery of his surroundings.

The exhibition includes my biochromes of healing plants and Gondwanan flora 

I am excited to present some of my new work at the Straddie Arts Trail 2024 in addition to images from the Medicinal Plant Cycles series of Minjerribah’s healing flora, which were the focus of my PhD research in consultations with members of the Quandamooka community on the Island.

I will also present several artworks featuring Gondwanan lineage plants from my recent art residency on the Binna Burra Cultural Landscape, Qld, and a few images from an ongoing project on the Maranoa River, Gungguri Country.

Home and Corporate Deco

This year for the first time I created wallpaper, velvet cushions, and stool covers, and a few lamp shades in collaboration with the Lampshade Lady Meredith Cole.
