Taniec roślin: Australijska flora w biochromie

Z projekcją filmu poklatkowego Mikrokosmosy Gondwany autorstwa Renaty Buziak, pejzaże dzwiękowe kompozytora Erika Griswolda

Zanurz się w powolne, przekształcające rytmy natury. W wydarzeniu Taniec roślin artystka polsko-australijska Renata Buziak zaprezentuje film poklatkowy Mikrokosmosy Gondwany – wizualną medytację nad ukrytym ruchem flory australijskiego lasu deszczowego.

Film, stworzony w procesie biochromu, w którym materiały fotograficzne współdziałają z rozkładającą się materią roślinną, odsłania cichy taniec organicznej przemiany. Podczas projekcji Renata porozmawia z kuratorką Małgorzatą Sady.

Wydarzenie oferuje intymne spojrzenie na siłę metamorfozy roślin i piękno dziedzictwa Gondwany.

The Dance of Plants: Australian Flora in Biochrome

Featuring the timelapse film Gondwanan Microcosms by Renata Buziak, soundscapes by Erik Griswold

Join us for a poetic journey into the unseen rhythms of nature. In The Dance of Plants, Australian-based Polish artist Renata Buziak presents her time-lapse biochrome film Gondwanan Microcosms—a visual meditation on native rainforest flora, decay, and transformation.

Created through the fusion of organic matter and photographic materials, the biochrome process reveals the subtle, slow choreography of plants and microbes over time.
During the evening join in the conversation between Renata Buziak and curator Małgorzata Sady.

This event invites you to reflect on the cycles of life, the power of organic decay, and the beauty of Australia’s Gondwanan heritage—through the lens of experimental photography.

In her essay Time, Transition and Transformation: Renata Buziak’s Gondwanan Biochromes Dr Lisa Chandler wrote:

“Renata Buziak’s intriguing biochrome images take us on a metaphorical journey into the Gondwana rainforests surrounding Binna Burra – a rich environment containing plants with lineages that can be traced back to the ancient supercontinent of Gondwana. Buziak’s work provides a fresh perspective on this complex ecosystem, helping us distinguish and learn about individual plants, and revealing their connection to a wider ecology and its ongoing cycles of growth and decay that stretch back over 50 million years – before the continents of Australia and South America separated from Antarctica. But perhaps what is most surprising about Buziak’s biochromes is that the plants themselves are vital collaborators in the creation of these fascinating images.” (L. Chandler, Art. Nature. Science. at Binna Burra, 2022).
