Gondwanan Biochromes, Binna Burra Cultural Landscape

This catalogue provides documentation of my exhibition of biochrome art that I created during the residency on the Binna Burra Cultural Landscape. Binna Burra is located in Woonoongoora (Lamington National Park), the World Heritage Gondwana Rainforest of Australia.
The indoor & outdoor exhibition took place from 4 to 15 December at the Pottery Shed and its courtyard, and included a selection of works on paper, textiles and video focusing on Gondwanan lineage plants.

Catalogue contents:

Introduction: Steve Noakes, Chairperson, Binna Burra Lodge
Vice Chair, National Parks Association of Queensland
Microbes and Remnants in the Canopy of Binna Burra, an essay by Dr Jayne Fenton Keane
Increasingly smaller patterns, a poem by Vicki Keller
Images:
* Biochrome timelapse stills
* Biochrome images from the exhibition
* Photographs of the exhibition and of the Bloom Collective performance

Implicit in the composition are layers that echo the passage of millennia of geological and planetary activity. …

our formless form relates to these warmer parts of our world where
the rich organic scent of decomposing leaves, roots, barks, and seeds recall us back into our own time …
