Artworks Centella asiatica… anti-inflammatory… is from the ‘Medicinal Plant Cycles’ series created during my Phd studio research. This body of work focuses on local Australian healing plants, significant to the Quandamooka Peoples of Minjerribah/North Stradbroke Island. The Island is located 27 km East of Brisbane in Quandamooka country (Moreton Bay). The flora I used to create the work was, and in some instances still is, used for healing. Centella asiatica is also known as pennywort, and as an asthma plant.
