Inspired by and created with Turnipwood (Akania bidwillii), a Gondwanan lineage plant featured in my Gondwanan Biochromes series, this illuminant embodies the beauty and history of rainforest flora. As described by Dr Ray Carpenter, this plant "is now only found in the Gondwana Rainforests of eastern Australia, but there is fossil evidence from elsewhere, including 52 million year old leaves from Patagonia".

This unique lamp combines soft velvet Turnipwood artwork shade and timber base, offering a one-of-a-kind feature piece that enhances your space during the day and provides gentle, nature-inspired illumination at night.

I created the Turnipwood (Akania bidwillii) Silverleaf Morning during my tenure as the inaugural Artist-in-Residence at Binna Burra Lodge, this lamp pays homage to the incredible biodiversity of Woonoongoora / Lamington National Park, part of the World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rainforests.
