Inspired by and created with the fragrant Rough Tree Fern (Cyathea Australis), a Gondwanan lineage plant featured in my Gondwanan Biochromes series, this illuminant embodies the beauty and history of rainforest flora. As described by Dr Ray Carpenter, "Spores similar to those of living tree ferns are common fossils and date back to at least 150 million years."

I created Rough Tree Fern (Cyathea Australis) Astringent artwork during my tenure as the inaugural Artist-in-Residence at Binna Burra Lodge, this lamp pays homage to the incredible biodiversity of Woonoongoora / Lamington National Park, part of the World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rainforests.
