Granite Belt Wildflowers, Harrigans Lane I is from the Wildflowers of the Granite Belt series, which presents images created on a forested property at Wilsons Downfall near Stanthorpe, the home of the renowned Piano Mill.

I created this image with leaves and flowers, using my biochrome process of image making, which fuses both: organic and photographic materials over several weeks. A collaboration with nature.

The blossoms, once almost invisible in the landscape, were transformed to emerge boldly through the biochrome process. Biochromes are records of nature's events of organic decay and renewal. This art and science undertaking allows for transformation of flora, and makes visible what is usually invisible to our eyes.
