This biochrome artwork honours Box Tree and the knowledge shared by Gunggari Traditional Custodians on Gunggari Country, beginning with Saraeva Mitchell during a 2017 arts camp and continuing through traditional Box Tree hat weaving during the 2024 arts camp. Created through the biochrome process, where organic matter interacts with photographic materials over time, the work carries traces of plant, place and time.
